The current western world has a perception of antagonism and fear towards Islam. Generally speaking, when a female shares that she is a convert, immediately she’s radicalized. Islam is rapidly growing in the Latino communities in the United States, which has caused cultural conflict since the majority of the Spanish speakers are extremely Catholic/Christian. This paper is focused on explaining the perception towards catholic females that converted to Islam is so negatively viewed in the western world. It mentions how stereotypes can blind the real beliefs of Islam and how Islamic ignorance affects the perception of female converts. Additionally, this paper examines the reasons for conversion among women and how the negative experiences towards converts influences the formatibcqon of their Muslim identities.
