You have been asked to design tissue engineering constructs (either acellular or cell seeded) for bladder reconstruction in patients with neurogenic bladder, bladder cancer, and bladder exstrophy. Compare and contrast the key design elements which must be considered for these three different urologic diseases in terms of scaffold type and geometry, cell sources (if any), and mechanical requirements. Note for bladder exstrophy, this therapy must be available at time of birth to immediately close the defect. Questions and videos are attached
