Chick-fil-A’s mission statement is “To be American’s best quick-service restaurant at winning and keeping customers” (Chick-fil-A Mission and Vision Statements Analysis, 2019). This is a good mission statement because it is specific to why the organization exists and what industry it competes in (Mission, Vision, and Values, n.d.). Chick-fil-A’s vision statement is “to glorify God by being a faithful steward of all that is entrusted to us. To have a positive influence on all who come in contact with Chick-fil-A” (Chick-fil-A Mission and Vision Statements Analysis, 2019). This is an excellent vision statement because it makes a person want to be part of this vision. It is clear, precise, and inspiring. This vision is a broad description of the values this company provides (Mission, Vision, and Values, n.d.). If you have walked into a Chick-fil-A, you will know this company has successfully remained disciplined and true to both the mission and vision statements.

Amazon’s mission statement is “we seek to be Earth’s most consumer-centric company for four primary customer sets consumer, sellers, enterprises, and content creators” (Lumen Learning, n.d., para 9). Amazon has a strong mission statement, they effectively state exactly what market in the industry they plan to compete in. It further defines how they plan to set themselves apart from their competition in the industry (Lumen Learning, n.d. Para 8-9).
The vision statement lays out the companies aspirations and tells the consumer what it is they aspire to become (Lumen Learning, n.d. Para 5). Amazon’s vision statement is “to be Earth’s most consumer-centric company, where customers can find and discover anything they might want to buy online” (Mission Statement Academy, 2019. Para 10). Amazon’s vision statement is intriguing to consumers as being a place that is focused on them and that has any goods they could think of at the touch of their smart phone. This effectively conveys to the consumer the value the company intends to provide them (Lumen Learning, n.d. Para 7).
