Primary Task Response: Within the Discussion Board area, write 400–600 words that respond to the following questions with your thoughts, ideas, and comments. This will be the foundation for future discussions by your classmates. Be substantive and clear, and use examples to reinforce your ideas.
Research over the past several decades has identified personality traits that appear to be positively or negatively related to stress. For example, it is now understood that people with hostile traits tend to have more heart disease and hypertension, both physical components linked to stress (Rosenman, 1990). Other personality traits related to stress include Type-A personality style, codependency, perfectionism, resiliency, or sensation seeking.
Based on this, include the following in your discussion:
Identify and describe 1 personality trait that is related to stress levels.
Discuss how that personality trait is linked to stress
What is the relationship? Is one likely to be more stressed or less stressed if they have this trait?
What are your personal thoughts about this relationship?
Does the relationship make sense to you, or is the relationship between the trait and the stress surprising? Why?
